Teacher Training Program
The Latin Ballroom offers Dance Teacher Training Program (TTP) in a variety of styles and techniques, and is fully authorised and approved by the Dance Industry Association of Australia. This page provides only the most modest overview of the TTP.
The TTP is divided into four (4) different modules, each with a different target outcome. The time taken to complete any particular Module is flexible, and is negotiated on an individual basis with the Training Manager.
While not an exhaustive list (each module is of course different) each Module includes features of:
- Formal Dance Theory;
- Dance Practice and Technique;
- Social Dance Variations;
- Teaching Methodology for Groups, Couples and Individuals;
- Legislative and Corporate Issues & Requirements;
- Studio Operations;
- Principles & Ethics of Teaching Dance.
Each module involves Nationally Accredited Competencies (or components thereof) and requires Assessment, which consists of:
- Written / Oral Exam;
- Practical Assessment and Feedback; and
- Studio Experience.
There is NO requirement to complete all (4) Modules of the TTP.
If say, you were interested in working with Wedding Couples, then just complete Modules (1) and (2).

As an aid to further professional development, participants in the TTP are encouraged to continue their dance training outside the structure of the TTP.
To this end, all TTP candidates can maintain their skills and abilities by participating in any Level Course which they are qualified to Teach or Assist at no charge.
Participants in the TTP joining more advanced program to further their skill base have those higher Level Courses discounted at 50% (i.e. half price).
